Sound development by age 3
Many three year old children can say /p/, /m/, /n/, /h/, /b/, and /w/. If your child is not producing these sounds, you may want to consider speech therapy.

Sound development by age 4
Many four year old children can say /t/, /d/, /k/, and /g/, "y," "ng," and /f/.

The late developing sounds listed below and "ch," "dg" as in "judge," /v/, and "zh" as in "measure" may develop anywhere between ages 4 and 8.

Late Developing Sounds
The late developing sounds are "r," /s/, /z/, /l/, "th" - voiced, "th" - voiceless, "sh," and vocalic "r."
Sound blends
These sounds involve quick tongue movements between two or more different sounds and can be very difficult to learn. Examples: L-blends, R-blends, and S-blends.
